Dear Industry Professional:
The Wills Eye Institute was established in 1832 and has consistently been ranked
as one of the best hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. The
Wills Eye Institute built its outstanding reputation as a pioneer in ophthalmic
education by establishing the first ophthalmology residency program in the country
in 1839. Wills currently has 24 residents enrolled in the three-year program, making
it one of the largest ophthalmic training programs in the country. Admission to
the residency program is extremely competitive; eight physicians are selected every
year from 500 applicants. In addition, Wills Eye offers 26 clinical and research
fellowship programs.
Wills Eye also has a long-standing academic and clinical relationship with Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital and Jefferson Medical College. Thomas Jefferson University
sponsors the Wills Eye Residency Program and Wills serves as Jefferson's Department
of Ophthalmology. Jefferson medical students and non-ophthalmology residents rotate
through Wills Eye as part of their training.
The Wills Eye Knowledge Portal was established to offer our daily, weekly, and monthly
live educational programs to a global audience of eye care professionals. The Wills
Eye Institute is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians and the
web site will provide numerous CME options. We believe that our vast number of world
renowned ophthalmologists will draw a significant audience to the Knowledge Portal.
Advertising support and sponsorship are very important for the success of the Wills
Eye Knowledge Portal and we hope to work with your company to reach your targeted
