Jay Federman, MD
Dr. Jay Federman is an attending surgeon on the Wills Eye Retina Service specializing in medical and surgical management of vitreo-retinal diseases. Dr. Federman attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and completed a retina fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Federman interests include ocular complications of diabetes, macular degeneration, and the use of telemedicine to facilitate the delivery of ophthalmic care. Dr. Federman was chief of ophthalmology of the Medical College of Pennsylvania 1994-2004. He was a co-director of the Retina Service from 1991-1999 and a director of the Research Division of the Wills Eye Hospital from 1980-1995. In 2005, he was a special medical consultant to the Kremlin and the President of the Administration of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
